Do You Have A Question?

How Long do I have to file a Personal Injury Lawsuit?

After suffering a personal injury, the furthest thing from your mind may be filing a lawsuit. You are concentrating on healing and trying to put the pieces of your life back together. But you should know that the law only allows a certain amount of time for you to file a personal injury action to recover compensation for your injuries.

In Connecticut, most personal injury actions must be filed within two years of the date of injury. This does not mean you should wait two years to consult an attorney. The sooner you hire an attorney to pursue your case, the more evidence we can gather. Witnesses will remember more closer in time to the accident, and we will have more time to negotiate with the other party and prepare your case.

If you have been seriously injured in an accident, please contact Penner Law Firm or call 203-878-1254 today to have your case evaluated by an experienced personal injury lawyer in Connecticut. Our offices are conveniently located in Milford and Branford.
